Breed: a smaller Staffordshire Terrier mix with a compact, athletic build

If you have ever wanted a true “Velcro dog” — the kind of dog who wants to be your shadow, your sidekick and your constant companion — then Julia may be exactly who you have been waiting for.

Julia absolutely adores her people and does not want to be left behind. She is happiest simply being near her humans, whether that means chilling quietly at your feet while you work, following you from room to room, or curling up nearby while the family goes about their day.

She is not a high-energy dog. Julia enjoys walks and outings, but she is equally content just relaxing with her people. She has very good manners, basic obedience, walks well on a leash, travels well in the car and is house-trained.

Julia is also absolutely beautiful with children. Her foster carer describes her as a proper “nanny dog” — when children are around, Julia naturally gravitates toward them rather than the adults. She recently attended a local soccer game and happily soaked up pats and attention from children of all ages, from toddlers through to teenagers, while remaining on her very best behaviour.

She is fine with other dogs and may potentially be cat-friendly with slow, sensible introductions. While she has shown curiosity toward cats, she has so far chosen not to engage when faced with defensive feline behaviour.

Julia absolutely adores her people and does not like being left behind. She is happiest simply being near her humans, whether that means chilling quietly at your feet while you work, following you from room to room, or curling up nearby while the family goes about their day.

Because Julia forms such strong bonds with her people, she will be best suited to a home where someone is around much of the time — perhaps a work-from-home household, retired person or family where she can be included in everyday life. She has only recently entered foster care, so we suspect that as she settles into a secure and permanent home and realises she is there to stay, her confidence will continue to grow.

Julia is happy in a crate if someone is nearby, but she will not fully relax if isolated from her humans. She will also need good, secure fencing to keep her safe.

This sweet girl is looking for more than just a house — she is looking for her person, or her family, and she will repay that love with complete devotion.
