About Arna
Meet Arna, the ultimate little love bug 💛
She is the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. Whether she’s curled up beside you on the couch, tucked into bed under her favourite blanky, or following you around to make sure you’re still nearby, her happiest place is simply being with her people.
She’s a total chatterbox when she’s happy or excited and has the sweetest little vocal personality. She gets adorably wiggly when she wants to play because she’s still learning how — she never really got the chance before. Watching her discover toys, affection, routines and what it means to truly feel safe has been incredibly special.
Her favourite things include: • Morning walks (30 minutes is perfect, though she’d happily go longer) • Car rides • Chicken nuggets • Sun naps on the couch • Watching movies with the family • Bedtime cuddles
She sleeps beautifully inside, can be left alone in the house for hours without toilet accidents, and is not destructive when left alone. She would happily sleep in her own bed… although she’d absolutely prefer yours if cuddles are involved.
Training-wise, she has fantastic recall, automatically sits for treats and dinner, and walks reasonably well on lead. She does pull at the start of walks due to excitement — understandable considering she had never properly been walked before. She’s eager to please and continues to improve every day.
She does still need support in a few areas: • Continued lead training • Ongoing work with separation anxiety • A secure yard with preferably 1.8m fencing, as she may attempt to jump fences when stressed • Monitoring around toads, as she will try to eat them
With other animals, she is friendly with both dogs and cats, but introductions need to be slow because she becomes VERY excited and can accidentally overwhelm other pets. She happily coexists with magpies and kookaburras, but chickens are absolutely not her friends. She also has a strong instinct to chase hares, kangaroos and deer.
She has been around children aged 5+ and is calm, gentle and simply wants pats and affection.
Bath time? Not a fan. Chickens? Not friends, only food.
At her core, she is still learning that humans can be kind. She has timid moments while she figures out what love and safety truly feel like, but the love she gives in return is pure, gentle and incredibly special. She doesn’t need perfection — she just needs someone patient enough to continue showing her that she’s finally home.
Medical notes
Arna has recently had entropian surgery on her eyes.
