About Cleo
Meet Cleo.
Cleo is an older girl who lost the only home she knew after a dog moved in, and she was no longer welcome there. Since then, the world has felt loud and uncertain to her. New sounds, new animals, and even gentle movement can be overwhelming, so she often spends her time hiding away where it feels safer to just be still and small.
She doesn't reach out for comfort yet. Instead, she waits quietly, hoping the space around her will feel safe enough one day. But beneath all that fear is a cat who still remembers what kindness feels like. If you sit with her patiently and give her time without expectation, Cleo slowly starts to soften. And in those rare, tender moments, she may lean in ever so gently for pats and quiet cuddles, as if reminding herself that closeness can be safe again.
Cleo finds other animals very overwhelming and really needs a calm, quiet home where she can be the only pet so she can finally feel safe and at ease.
She won't come running, and she won't ask for attention. But she is still there, quietly hoping for someone who will understand her pace, and love her gently anyway.
Cleo is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Cleo- or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
