About Tilly The Chunky Tabby
Meet Mathilda, affectionately known as Tilly ❤️
Tilly is a beautiful 5-year-old female black and tan tabby with gorgeous markings and a wonderfully voluptuous, huggable figure. She’s a charming blend of deep affection and strong independence — a cat who knows exactly what she wants and offers her love on her own terms, but when she does, it’s warm, generous, and full of rumbling purrs.
Tilly is a social and loving girl who enjoys being where the action is. She’ll follow you around the house, keep you company while you work, and settle nearby with contented purrs. At mealtime, she’s polite and gentle — no wailing or begging, just a hopeful look and sweet attention. She loves head pats and will stretch up adorably for her “good girl” rewards. While she’s very affectionate with her people, she’s clear about her boundaries: if she’s had enough, she’ll let you know (occasionally with a quick swipe or nip), then happily return later when she’s ready for more cuddles.
She’s an indoor cat who enjoys supervised time in an enclosed backyard during the day. Due to her short legs and build, she’s not a big jumper or climber, so she stays safely grounded. At night she’ll come in after a little playful game of “catch me if you can,” but she understands bedtime routines and always expects her pat before settling down. She may sleep on your bed (with a little trill warning and a soft thud when she lands) or in her own bed nearby.
Tilly is a vertical scratcher, so she’ll need a sturdy, tall scratching post (trained with treats and praise). Keeping her claws trimmed and covering furniture arms initially will help her learn the house rules. She has a thick coat that benefits from a good brush every couple of days, especially during shedding seasons.
Best Suited For:
Tilly would thrive in a relatively calm, adult-oriented home. She’s not ideal for households with small children or elderly residents who might be startled by her strong personality. She does very well with respectful teenagers who understand her boundaries. She currently lives with a more timid cat and sometimes plays cheeky tricks on her, so she would probably be happiest as an only cat or with another confident, strong-willed feline. She hasn’t been tested with dogs but should be fine if she has high places to retreat to.
She’s fully litter trained, has no current medical issues, and is ready for her forever home.
If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, and delightfully independent girl who will share plenty of purrs, quiet companionship, and personality, Tilly might be the perfect match for you. She offers lots of love — just on her own special schedule.
We are advertising Mathilda on behalf of her owner Robyn who loves her dearly but is moving overseas and unfortunately cannot take Tilly with her.
Please submit an adoption application or email Tilly's owner Robyn directly if you feel you can offer this sweet little lady the home she deserves. Robyn will be more than happy to have a chat and answer any questions you might have.
Tilly is waiting to start her next happy chapter with the right person or family. 💕

About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
