About Scout
Meet Scout 🤎
Born 10 March 2026, Scout’s story began by the riverbank, where he and his three siblings were found alone and frightened after being dumped. Thankfully, a kind‑hearted passer‑by discovered them and brought them safely into Ark’s care.
Since then, Scout has thrived in foster care — growing strong, confident, and ready to find his forever home. With no known parentage, we believe he’s a Koolie × Cattle Dog, a mix that promises intelligence, loyalty, and plenty of energy.
Scout will suit an active home that can offer:
Secure fencing to keep his adventurous spirit safe
Consistent training to help him learn and flourish
Daily activity and enrichment to keep his clever mind and body busy
He’s a bright, affectionate pup who’s ready to start his next chapter — one filled with love, guidance, and plenty of playtime.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Scout has received 1 of his 3 puppy vaccinations. His next vaccination is due 21st May and then the 21st June. Scout's worming is up to date and is due for his next dose 14th May.
Scout will come with a formalised deferred desexing agreement
Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
