About Momo (68835)
Momo is a young Basset Hound mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. Delightfully goofy, cheeky and happy-go-lucky, Momo is the kind of dog who brings laughter wherever he goes. He is fantastic with both humans and other dogs and has so much love to give to his future family.
Importantly, Momo MUST go to a home with another confident, stable adult dog already in residence. This is an essential part of his adoption requirements. Momo experiences separation anxiety and finds it very difficult to self-regulate when left without his people or canine companion. He gains significant comfort, confidence and support from other dogs, so having a well-rounded adult dog by his side is not simply a preference for Momo - it is a necessity for him to feel safe and settled in his new home.
Momo will also need owners who are home most of the time initially. He currently struggles with being left alone, including being outdoors without company, and his new family will need to be committed to helping him gradually build confidence with time apart. With patience, consistency and the support of his canine companion, we hope Momo can slowly learn that being alone is nothing to worry about and eventually become more independent.
Momo walks well enough on lead but is still polishing up his puppy manners, so ongoing training and consistency will be important. He is cheeky, a little loud and full of charm - perfect for a home that enjoys plenty of personality and doesn't mind a dog who likes to make himself heard!
Momo may suit a home with older, respectful children aged 10+. He is not suitable for a home with cats, as he has shown that he is not cat-friendly.
If you're looking for a friendly, goofy and loving sidekick - and you already have a confident, stable adult dog who could be Momo's best mate and help him feel secure - Momo might just be your guy!
Please note: Momo must be adopted into a home with another suitable adult dog. This is an essential requirement due to his separation anxiety.

Please note it is compulsory that we meet any existing dogs with the GAWS dog of interest to help ensure a good match for all involved. In addition, all household members are required to attend the meet and greet to assess the dog's interaction.
