About Goldie The Greyhound
Looking for a low-maintenance best friend with excellent nap credentials and a heart of gold? Meet Goldie — a beautiful black greyhound with a sugar-dusted snoot and a PhD in chilling out.
And the best thing about adopting Goldie is when you take her home, you get two for one! That’s right, Goldie is one half of a bonded pair, along with her equally gorgeous sister Yahna!
Currently living her best foster-life alongside her sister, Goldie has absolutely embraced the retiree lifestyle. She’s toilet trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and can happily spend a few hours home alone without any drama. Independent queen behaviour.
Goldie walks beautifully on lead with zero interest in towing you down the street, and she’s been wonderfully calm around other dogs. In fact, she’s quite the social butterfly and enjoys meeting canine friends of all shapes and sizes. Big dogs? Small dogs? Goldie says, “More friends please.”
Apartment life? Nailed it. She’s comfortable with lifts, sliding doors, car rides, and all the weird little human things that come with modern living. She does appreciate a helping hand getting into the car and is still building confidence with outdoor stairs — but with a little encouragement (and perhaps a supportive cheer squad), she’s making great progress.
Like many classy older ladies, Goldie prefers not to skate across slippery timber floors, so a few strategically placed rugs or runners will help keep her feeling secure. She also has a corn on her front paw, but don’t let that fool you — when it’s walk time, her goofy and playful side comes out in full force.
Goldie would suit a calm home with children over 5 who understand that sometimes a girl just needs her beauty sleep. In return, she’ll provide endless sweetness, gentle companionship, soulful eyes, and expert-level snuggles.
Goldie has also shown calm neutral behaviour around cats during assessment and may suit a home with a cat after slow gradual introductions.
So if you’re looking for a couple of Golden Girls to share quiet days, leisurely strolls, and the occasional seaside adventure, Goldie and Yahna may just be your perfect match.
