Ozzie is everything you could want in an Australian Cattle Dog — Stunning Deep Blue with perfect markings, stoic, affectionate, and the ultimate “Velcro dog” who’ll be right by your side through it all. He thrives on human connection and forms deep, loyal bonds with his people, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing, whether it’s relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure.
Ozzie has a beautiful balance of energy and affection. He enjoys his walks and playtime, but he’s just as happy curling up beside you afterwards, soaking up all the pats and giving plenty of love in return. Expect to be greeted with big, sloppy kisses and a wagging tail every time you walk through the door.

Ozzie loves to play — it’s his absolute passion! Whether it’s with his foster siblings or his humans, he throws himself into playtime with 100% enthusiasm. Expect plenty of rough-and-tumble, chasey games, and the occasional body slam. Like many pups, he’s still learning when playtime is over, but he’s getting there.
Ozzie is usually very excited to meet people and happily seeks out cuddles and attention. Very ccasionally, if he’s unsure, he may give a small bark, but with a bit of reassurance he quickly warms up.
He is an affectionate boy so be ready for lots of snuggle moments
This clever boy is a fast learner. He already knows “sit” and “drop” and walks nicely on a loose lead when there are no distractions. With more practice, he’ll master it in busier environments too. He’s confidently using the doggy door (often charging through it like a pro!) and is currently working on polite manners like waiting for his dinner.
Ozzie can be a little unsure when first meeting high energy new dogs, so slow introductions are important. He may be cautious or bark initially, but with patience and guidance he settles quickly and is soon ready to sniff and play.
Ozzie has been fostered with a number of dogs and is learning his social manners around different personalities
He likes quite a bit of rough and tumble dog play so if rehomed with another dog would have to be a dog that likes quite physical play. He will only be rehomed with a female dog of great social skills and a playful demeanor.
Ozzie is happy entertaining himself during the workday with toys or naps, but if you’re home, be prepared for a constant (and very cute) shadow following you around. He will be fine to be an only dog and is able to be left alone
Ozzie loves his food — which makes training easy! He’s still learning that all four paws should stay on the ground and not on the bench in search of snacks.
Ozzie is making great progress but, as a young pup, still needs occasional reminders.
During the day, Ozzie enjoys being outside, often sunbaking or relaxing in his kennel. At night, he sleeps inside in his crate. Ozzie may sook for a few minutes in his crate before settling but will sleep overnight all night
He loves car rides — to Ozzie, hopping in the car means adventure and not being left behind. He’ll happily watch the world go by or curl up for a nap.
Ozzie currently enjoys a morning free walk, followed by an afternoon training walk and playtime with his foster siblings. He thrives on both physical activity and mental stimulation.
Inside the home, Ozzie matches the energy around him. If others are playing, he’s all in — but once he’s tired, he’s more than happy to curl up on your lap for a cuddle.
Ideal Home
Ozzie would thrive in a home with an older, active well-balanced female dog to show him the ropes, or as a solo dog with an owner committed to ongoing training.
He would suit a household with older children, as he’s still a bit jumpy and very enthusiastic with his affection.
He could do well with a full-time worker, provided he receives morning and afternoon exercise and enrichment. Alternatively, he’d make an amazing companion for someone who wants a loyal sidekick — even a work-from-home buddy.
A family with previous dog experience and if you have had heelers even better!
A family committed to ongoing training, have time to put into bringing the best out in Ozzie and including him in their everyday life
Being a working breed he will need daily exercise and stimulation
No apartment or small yards will be considered.
Secure fencing with plenty of grass shade and shelter
