About Primrose
Primrose is 10 months old, and she is exactly why our Rescue or Rehome program exists.
On paper, she's everything you'd want in a young cat .. gentle, social, curious. But the shelter environment has completely overwhelmed her. Every sound, every movement, every unfamiliar face is just too much. Instead of showing you who she really is, Primrose freezes. She hides. She quietly waits for it all to pass.
But here's the thing ... we know there is more to her.
She shows us in small, fleeting moments. A soft lean into a hand. A hesitant step forward. A quiet curiosity that peeks through the fear. These are not the signs of a "shut down" ca, they are the signs of a cat who wants to connect but simply can't cope in this environment.
In a typical situation, a cat like Primrose would be overlooked. She wouldn't get the time or space she needs to decompress. She wouldn't be given the chance to show her true self.
But she has been given that chance.
And now, we are asking for someone very special to take the next step.
Primrose doesn't need a perfect home, she needs a patient one. A calm space. Someone who understands that trust takes time, and that the most rewarding bonds are often the ones you build slowly. She needs someone who can see past the fear and recognise the cat she is trying so hard to be.
This is not a "plug and play" pet. This is a commitment. It's a promise to give her the time she has never been afforded before.
But if you can do that, if you can be the person who shows Primrose the world isn't so scary, you won't just be adopting a cat.
You'll be changing the entire course of her life.
We know she's in there. She just needs someone willing to wait for her to come out.
Could that be you?
Primrose is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
