About Cindy
Cindy is a beautiful 5-year-old tabby whose world changed suddenly when her owner had to move and couldn't take her along. Since then, she's been trying to make sense of a lot of unfamiliar things, new spaces, new people, and a life that feels very different from the one she knew.
Cindy has always been a more shy and reserved girl. She's not the type to demand attention or fill a room with her presence. Instead, she watches quietly, takes her time, and slowly builds trust in her own way.
And when she does, it's something special.
She's the kind of cat who doesn't give her affection away to just anyone but when she chooses you, it means everything. Her connection is gentle, quiet, and deeply genuine.
Right now, she's finding things a little overwhelming. We suspect Cindy may have had some negative experiences around vet visits and carriers in the past, which makes unfamiliar handling and transport especially scary for her. Because of this, she can be quite nervous in situations where she feels she doesn't have control.
What Cindy needs is simple, but incredibly important.
A calm, predictable home.
A patient person who won't rush her.
A space where she can take her time to feel safe again.
She doesn't need to be "fixed." She just needs to be understood.
Given the chance to decompress and settle at her own pace, we truly believe Cindy will blossom into a loving and loyal companion, the kind who quietly keeps you company, who feels safe in your presence, and who builds a bond that lasts.
She may not be the loudest or the easiest choice in the room, but she might just be the most meaningful one. Cindy has lost her home once. Now she just needs someone willing to give her the time to find her place again.
Cindy is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Cindy - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
