About Bear
Hello there! I'm Bear, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BEAR
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• Previous experience with my breed is essential.
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I was surrendered for digging and attempting to escape, so I'll need a very secure yard to keep me safe while I adjust to my new life.
• I've never been allowed indoors before, but I would truly love to be included as part of the family and spend time inside with my people.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• I have previously lived with young children.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• As an active breed, I have lots of energy, so I'll need an active family who can keep up with me.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
• A submissive desexed canine companion would suit me well - although I adore people and would also be perfectly happy as your one and only.
• I have a high prey drive, so I'm not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.
•
My Paw-some Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
Training:
• Once I'm settled, I can walk nicely, but I may pull if something grabs my attention or if I decide I'd like to head in a different direction. I can also be strong or a bit skittish if startled, so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training.
• I can be a little bouncy when excited, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
• I'm not housetrained yet, as I haven't previously been allowed inside, so I'll need guidance and consistency to learn.
• I can be scared of thunder and fireworks and may bark or whine during storms. I'll need a safe, secure space to retreat to, along with comfort and reassurance from my family.
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Bear if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
