About Rocco
Introducing Rocco, a really gentle, happy and affectionate little boy who will make wonderful companion pet for the right household. This dog absolutely loves people and other dogs and is a playful little chap whose tail is constantly wagging. Although he recently came into care, Rocco fitted so well into his foster home he is ready to find his forever family.
Rocco is a mixed breed dog - perhaps Jack Russell, Dachshund and Cattle cross - with some other small breed/s mixed in as well. He has the size of a JR/Dashie x but the coat of a red cattle dog; an unusual combination that results in a dog who is a handsome little chap. Rocco is a small dog, but he is not tiny; he weighs about 8 kilograms and will not grow any bigger.
Since coming into care, Rocco has learnt to walk on a lead which he loves and welcomes getting his harness on. He is in care with other dogs (male and female) and gets on well with all of them. He initiates play but he can get overexcited at times, but the older female dog soon calms him down. This boy has also discovered toys and loves the squeaky ones! Rocco is not a fussy eater; is toilet trained and sleeps soundly all night. He will let you know if a stranger approaches the house, but he is not a yappy little dog.
Because he loves company, Rocco is best suited to a home situation where he has constant companionship. He will do particularly well with another playful dog which is similar in size and an owner who is home more often than not. Although he has progressed a great deal while in care, Rocco needs an adopter who is is willing to continue with his training - the result will be a wonderful family pet and gentle companion as he loves his people and being close to them. Training will be easy as he is very food motivated and has excellent recall. Although Rocco loves going for walks, exploring the garden, playing outdoors with his foster siblings and doing zoomies, he is predominantly an indoor dog.
