Hi, I’m Jasper ❤️🐾

I’m a happy, cheeky little bloke with a huge personality and absolutely zero understanding of personal space.

My friend Delilah and I were sitting on death row in a council pound until Off The Chain stepped in and saved us just in time. I even had my 6th birthday while in the pound- I was very stressed in there and so much happier now that I'm out. I’m affectionate, social, and very food motivated, which makes me pretty fun to train. I enjoy walks, car rides, enrichment activities, hanging out with the family, and generally supervising household operations from the couch.

I absolutely love kids and currently live with several of them. They can walk me on lead confidently, help with my dinner and enrichment toys, and I’m always keen to be involved in whatever chaos the family is up to. If there’s a movie night happening, chances are I’ll already be upside down on the couch before the popcorn’s ready, and if you let me, I’ll happily sneak into the kids’ bed for the night too.

I get along with other dogs overall, but I can be a bit pushy and overconfident at times, so I’ll need either a tolerant, well-balanced dog friend who won’t feed into nonsense, or a home where I can soak up the spotlight as the only dog. Either would be great, but please don't leave me as a single dog if you work full time- I have never been alone for such long periods and I will stress.

Delilah and I came into rescue together and have done this whole healing journey side by side, but while we get along well, we are not bonded and don’t need to be adopted together. The rescue is happy to consider separate homes for the right families, as both of us are quite independent of the other.

I’m looking for a home where I’ll continue getting healthier, fitter, and more loved every day. Someone willing to keep up my exercise, maintain a healthy weight, and let me properly enjoy the second chance I’ve been given. I came into care extremely overweight, struggling to walk far without wheezing, with nails so overgrown they had curled into my paw pads. One nail was so severely overgrown it caused a painful degloving injury that required surgery to repair. My teeth were also in shocking condition and I needed a full dental scale and polish. The rescue removed some small skin cancers from my belly while I was under anaesthetic. But despite all that? I have remained an incredibly loving, funny, resilient little guy. Now that I'm in tip top condition, I am ready to find my new forever home!

I am a dog best suited to being inside more often than not, and I am opportunistic- so secure fencing without gaps at the bottom is a must. I’m not suited to flimsy or poorly secured yards with gaps I can squeeze through, or long periods of time home alone. Currently, my foster carers leave me and my dog friends in the laundry on our beds if everyone else is leaving the house. This keeps me feeling secure and I just doze and wait for them to come back.

After everything I’ve been through, I’m ready to spend the rest of my life being spoiled rotten, sleeping somewhere comfy, and acting like the king of the house. A confident owner who can laugh at my antics while still giving me structure will suit me perfectly.
