About Franklin - 9 Week Old Kelpie X Mastiff
🐾 Meet Franklin – an irresistibly sweet, playful, & cuddly Mastiff x Kelpie 🐾
Franklin is a loyal little shadow who loves being close to his people. He’s an inquisitive and happy pup, full of curiosity and puppy energy. Whether he’s playing with his toys, exploring the garden, or curling up for a nap, Franklin brings joy to every moment. He also adores his food and is always excited to meet new people.
This clever boy is already showing how quickly he can learn. He’s picking up basic commands like sit, lay down, and come, and is making great progress with both crate and toilet training. Being highly food-motivated has really helped him thrive, and with continued guidance, he’s set to grow into a well-mannered companion. Puppy preschool and ongoing training will be important for helping him reach his full potential.
As a young puppy, Franklin will need a home where someone is around most of the time to help him settle in and continue his training. He would love a home with another friendly dog to keep him company and share playtime. He has briefly met a cat in foster care and showed no signs of reactivity, though interactions have been limited.
Franklin is expected to grow into a large dog, so he’ll need a spacious, secure yard, along with access to indoors. He doesn’t enjoy being left alone outside for long periods but is gradually building confidence on his own.

Franklin's adoption fee is $800 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Franklin is in foster care in Aberglasslyn, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we
can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster
carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal
cheques.
