About Miley
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Miley
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance as an owner surrender.
BREED: Cavoodle x Spitz
Cavoodle is a cross between the Poodle and Cavalier King Charles – two very different breeds. Generally they are good family pets that can live in harmony with other pets. They are lively and affectionate and love the attention of their guardians.
The Spitz is a breed group which has several breeds in the group but they are generally known for their intelligence, independent and sometimes stubborn natures.
*********************************************************************
ASSETS: Easy going, affectionate, eager to please, friendly, laidback, quiet, playful and very sweet! She’s an absolute sweetheart who loves affection from her people. This is what her foster carer says about her:
I love attention, but I am happy with my own space. If you say hello to me, I am happy to lie beside you but not on you. I love belly scratches, they are my favourite!
I like being handled when I trust you, but strangers picking me up makes me very uncomfortable. When eating, I eat really quickly so my slow feeding bowl is important to ensure I don’t cough it all up. I like to eat high value treats away from anybody else so that I can enjoy them at my own pace. I’m happiest when running, I love being off lead and I listen when my foster carer tells me to come back but mostly I explore on a long lead. I am confident when out of the house and I just want to explore the world. I make noises when I see other dogs as I am very excited and when I meet them I am polite.
I love to please and training would be fun for me. Despite my age, I am full of energy and I can run as long as my legs allow me! I will require regular grooming to keep me looking my best!
OTHER ANIMALS: Miley gets on well with other dogs after gentle introduction and could live with another friendly dog in her new home. She has lived with a cat in the past but would probably prefer a dog only home.
GENERAL INFO: Miley has improved greatly on the lead but may need some reminders with her new owner as she pulls but not strongly. Miley is housetrained and rarely barks. She travels well in the car and gets a little afraid of traffic when out on walks, but this is improving as she gets more exposure. She knows a few commands and her recall is fairly good. Miley has a medium energy level and loves her walks.
MEDICAL NOTES: For an older dog Miley is in good shape although due to her age she has tired joints. We are adding 4Cyte to her food to support her. Her new owner will need to continue with joint care for her future agility and wellbeing.
ESSENTIALS for Miley:
** A loving home with someone who can be with her for most of the day or can take her with them when they go out
** She will need daily exercise, playtime and mental activity. A home that is willing to involve her in daily activities would be ideal for her.
** Miley needs a fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things to sniff and explore
** Miley needs to be allowed inside the home and to sleep inside at night - she loves to be with her human.
Miley has not lived with children before but could live with dog-savvy, gentle teenagers who will understand that being an older dog she would not appreciate over handling and would need her boundaries respected.
If Miley sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
