Adoption details
🐾 1. Application
Interested adopters complete an adoption application so we can learn about your lifestyle, home, experience, and what you’re looking for in an animal companion. Licence must be provided.
🐾 2. Meet & Greet
If your application is suitable, we organise a meet and greet. This allows you to spend time with the animal and ensure it’s the right match for both of you.
🐾 3. Video Home Check
A home or property check may be required (in person or via photos/videos). This helps us ensure the environment is safe, secure, and appropriate for the specific animal.
🐾 4. Approval
Once approved, we’ll confirm adoption details, including the adoption fee and next steps.
All animals adopted through Paws & Reins are:
Health checked
Desexed
Vaccinated
Microchipped
Wormed and flea treated
Council registered
Any known health or behavioural information is fully disclosed at the time of adoption.
🐾 5. Adoption Agreement & Fee
An adoption agreement must be signed, and the adoption fee paid prior to the animal leaving our care. Adoption fees help cover veterinary care, feeding, and ongoing rescue costs.
🐾 6. We will Deliver Your New Family Member
Once finalised, your new companion will be delivered to ensure the home is the same as the video and licence provided. We provide post-adoption support and request updates to ensure they are settling in well.
🐾 Important Notes - in our agreement
Animals must be returned to Paws & Reins if you can no longer care for them
On-selling or rehoming through third parties is not permitted
Indoor-only or secure containment requirements apply to most of our animals
