This beautiful young girl is a happy, affectionate pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She brings a lovely mix of playful energy and but is also just as happy curling up beside you at the end of the day. As I write this she is cuddled up on my lap getting kisses from one of my other dogs. She is currently living with three other dogs who she enjoys playing with as they teach her how to be a dog.

Her energy mixes from moderate to high who will benefit from regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training to help her grow into a great and loyal dog. Satay Sauce is eager to learn and genuinely wants to please, she just hasn’t had the guidance she deserves yet. Since being with me she has shown me that she knows how to sit and has learnt that she gets fed in the crate so tries her best to wait for dinner in there.

Satay Sauce has shown some resource guarding behaviours around food, likely due to her unsettled start in life. An experienced or committed owner who is willing to continue positive reinforcement training and provide clear structure will help her feel safe and reduce this behaviour over time. She is very comfortable eating in a locked crate and hasn’t got an issue with me putting my hand near her feed but she gets over excited with her eating or when food is around. This is something she is already working through and can be managed with the right training approach.

She would do best in a home with another confident dog who can help guide her and build her confidence. She can be a little submissive at times but definitely has enjoyed being able to express herself through play with my dogs, so would definitely want a dog that will play “rough” with her. Due to her energy levels and ongoing training needs, a home with children aged 12 and over would be most suitable.

She is also currently on medication for help to learn how to be calm, with some being gradually reduced under veterinary guidance, and will require a follow-up assessment in October.

Overall, she is a gorgeous, loving girl who just needs the right home to help her reach her full potential. With patience, understanding, and plenty of love, she will grow into a deeply devoted and rewarding companion.
