About Puree
Meet Puree š¾
Age: 8 months
Breed: Kelpie
Sex: Female
Puree is a sweet young Kelpie who has truly blossomed since coming into our care. She arrived as a timid stray, unsure of the world around her, but every day she gains more confidence and shows just how special she is.
Personality
Puree is a gentle soul with a curious streak. While she may be a little shy at first, she warms up beautifully with patience and kindness. Once she feels safe, her playful and affectionate side begins to shine. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and is becoming more confident with new experiences.
Training & Behavior
As a young Kelpie, Puree is smart and eager to learn. She will thrive with positive reinforcement training and a consistent routine. Continued socialisation will help her confidence grow even further. She would do best with adopters who understand her sensitive nature and are happy to guide her as she learns about the world.
Ideal Home
Puree would love a calm, supportive home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. An active household that enjoys walks, enrichment, and gentle training would suit her well. Another calm, friendly dog could also help her feel more secure, though this isn't essential.
Puree is now ready to take the next big step and find a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and encouraged to be her best self. With patience and care, she will make a wonderful companion.
To book a meet and greet with Puree, please contact the BARC team by phone or email: 03 5441 2209, barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au Due to the high volume of emails received, inquiries requesting a specific appointment, and including phone contact details, will receive a prioritised response over generic applications to meet an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
