About Freyja
🐾 Meet Freyja 🌸
Young Female Mastiff
Freyja is a beautiful young Mastiff with a sweet nature and a big heart, now searching for her forever home. True to her breed, she's a gentle soul who loves being close to her people and is growing into a loyal and devoted companion.
💛 About Freyja
Freyja is still young and learning about the world. She has typical puppy energy for her age, enjoying short bursts of play and exploration before settling in for long, relaxed naps. With patience, reassurance, and routine, she is quickly building confidence and learning good manners.
🧠 Personality & Behavior
-Affectionate and gentle, with a calm, loving disposition
-Shows age‑appropriate puppy energy, balanced with plenty of downtime
-People‑oriented and enjoys companionship
-Responsive to kind, consistent guidance
Freyja will benefit from ongoing basic training and socialisation to help her grow into a well‑mannered adult Mastiff.
🏡 Ideal Home
Freyja would thrive in a home that:
-Understands and is prepared for the size and strength of a Mastiff
-Can provide gentle training, structure, and routine
-Has space for a large dog to move comfortably and rest
-Is looking for a calm, loyal companion
❤️ Why You'll Love Freyja
Freyja has that special Mastiff charm-soft eyes, a loving nature, and a quiet devotion to her people. With guidance and affection, she will grow into a steady, affectionate companion who brings warmth and calm to her home.
Frejya is currently looking for a foster-to-adopt home within the City of Greater Bendigo to start learning the ropes of her forever home while she is waiting to grow a little bigger to be desexed- she is currently in a temporary foster home, so all meet and greets are strictly by appointment only.
To book a meet and greet with Freyja, please contact the BARC team by phone or email: 03 5441 2209, barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au Due to the high volume of emails received, inquiries requesting a specific appointment, and including phone contact details, will receive a prioritised response over generic applications to meet an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
