About Rune
🐾 RUNE
Gentle | Goofy | Big-hearted
Rune is one of eleven beautiful Cattle Dog cross puppies looking for homes. Born on 19 February 2026, he is ready to join his new family now.
While some pups are busy charging through life, Rune brings a slightly different energy. He is a gentle, easygoing boy who tends to take things in his stride — but with a wonderfully goofy, clumsy streak that keeps everyone smiling.
Foster mum describes him as a big, silly, but kind and loving boy — the sort who doesn’t make a lot of noise (he hardly ever barks), but absolutely throws himself into play when the opportunity arises.
And when it comes to play…
Rune is particularly fond of tug of war — probably because he usually wins!
Rune has a lovely calm, steady presence, but he’s still a playful chap.
His mum is a Blue Cattle Dog, and his dad is a mixed breed, likely including English Staffy and Blue Cattle Dog. Dad is an average-sized dog, no bigger than mum, which gives a good indication of Rune’s likely adult size — although Rune may be on the larger side of the litter.
He has all the wonderful traits of his breed mix — intelligent, loyal and people-focused — and with the right guidance will grow into a devoted, affectionate and very lovable companion.
Rune has the naturally short “stumpy” tail often seen in Australian Cattle Dogs. It is a genetic trait (not docked) and actually comes with a few practical advantages — there is less risk of tail injury, particularly in active dogs, and less chance of damage in the home from an enthusiastic wag. It also means less maintenance and grooming. Most importantly, it is simply part of who he is — and adds to his unique character and charm.
