About Pearl
Pearl, we believe, is a young cockatiel, who embarrassingly has a bit of a bald head! Vets have confirmed Pearl is very healthy, so either she was injured prior to arriving as a stray, or she’s very young and hasn’t had a chance to grow her head of feathers fully. Pearl is still a beauty, and although she’s not stepping onto our hand yet, she’s also relaxed about being near us, and doesn’t flee when approached. It’s early days for Pearl, so I’m sure we’ll get to know her more in time.
Although we refer to Pearl as a she, she may well be a he, given the solid colour of the tail feathers. Behaviourally, Pearl is rather quiet, which could indicate female, or that he hasn’t felt like being chatty yet.
