Meet Zeph – A gorgeous Handsome Boy with an Even Bigger Heart
Zeph is an incredibly striking boy who turns heads wherever he goes—but it’s his loving nature that truly captures hearts. From the moment you meet him, it’s clear that Zeph is all about his people. He thrives on human connection and will happily lean in for pats, rest his head in your hands for a massage, or wrap you up in one of his famous “bear hugs.” If given the chance, he’d absolutely climb into your lap and stay there all day.
Zeph is a confident, well-rounded dog who takes life in his stride. He hasn’t shown much that unsettles him and approaches new experiences with curiosity and calmness. Whether he’s out and about or relaxing at home, Zeph is a steady, affectionate companion who just wants to be part of your world.
Zeph’s favourite things all revolve around connection and activity. He absolutely loves:
• Pats, cuddles, and plenty of affection
• Head massages (his weakness!)
• Daily walks and exercise
• Being included in family life and activities
Zeph is truly a people’s dog. He is far more interested in human companionship than anything else and genuinely thrives when he’s around his people. He has been out in busy, crowded environments and handles them with ease, often stealing the spotlight thanks to his friendly, gentle nature.

He has met people of all ages, including children in prams and on bikes, and has taken it all in his stride. However, due to his size and his enthusiastic way of showing affection (those big bear hugs!)Zeph would be best suited to a home with older children who can comfortably handle his strength and excitement.
Zeph is polite and well-mannered when meeting other dogs, but he simply doesn’t have a strong interest in building canine friendships. He is much more focused on his humans. He tends to prefer female dogs and can be less tolerant of dominant males, as he is quite a confident boy himself. Zeph probably wouldn’t tolerate dogs rushing up to him
Because of this, Zeph would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention and not have to share his space. Thankfully, his easy-going nature and responsiveness make him very manageable around other dogs when out and about.
Inside the home, Zeph is a calm and respectful companion. He settles beautifully and is happy to relax on his bed when directed. While he enjoys his downtime, he’ll always make his way over for pats and affection when the opportunity arises.
He has proven himself to be a lovely house guest who understands how to switch off and enjoy a quiet environment after a day of activity.
Zeph is happiest when he has the freedom to move between indoors and outdoors, especially when his people are not home. Once he has settled into a routine and feels secure, he copes well with being left alone. Like many dogs, he may have a short adjustment period where he vocalises slightly, but he quickly settles once he understands the routine.
Zeph is an absolute dream to walk. He doesn’t pull on the lead and is content to trot along calmly by your side, making walks an enjoyable experience rather than a chore.
He has even participated in Parkrun events and handled the busy environment and jogging pace with ease. Zeph loves his daily exercise and gets adorably excited when it’s time for a walk—often showing off his quirky “kangaroo hops” with his front legs when he first sets off.
While he isn’t overly interested in other dogs, he walks past them well, especially when given gentle redirection.
Zeph is currently fed a high-quality kibble diet and also enjoys prime roll. He’s very food-motivated, which is great for training, although he can sometimes get a little enthusiastic when taking treats. Continued work on calm manners will help him polish this up.
Interestingly, Zeph hasn’t shown much interest in chew toys so far.
Zeph sleeps soundly through the night on his dog bed and settles well into a consistent routine.
Zeph has a lovely medium-length coat and genuinely enjoys being brushed, making grooming a pleasant bonding experience. Surprisingly, he isn’t a heavy shedder, although he may drop more coats seasonally as the weather warms up.Zeph is a great travel companion. While he was initially a little unsure about the car, he has quickly learned that it means fun outings and adventures. Now, he happily hops in and enjoys the ride.

Zeph is looking for a loving, committed home where he can truly be part of the family. His ideal home would include:
A family who will include him in daily life and give him plenty of attention
An active lifestyle to keep him physically and mentally stimulated
A secure yard with appropriate fencing (no farms or low fencing)
A home where he can be the only dog
Enough space—he is not suited to apartment living or small yards
