About Nugget
Nugget is a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier mix who loves nothing more than getting pats and curling up with his family.
He has just the most adorable nature - he loves to love 💕.
Nugget is a gentle boy who knows basic obedience and is house and crate trained.
He has always lived inside, with an inside cat and is so well-natured around him 💙🐾
At home, he loves food and treats, but when he is out he is not food motivated and sometimes will completely ignore offered treats.
He walks well on a lead, most commonly on the halti due to his size and strength. He has no issues with this, although he will occasionally paw at it if he sees someone who will give him sympathy for doing so.
He loves car rides 🚗, either from the backseat or the boot of an SUV, and is comfortable in a chest harness for these trips.
He loves kids, and when he is on the lead he will sit calmly and let children of all sizes pat him. Off lead, he can forget his size and be a bit much for smaller children.
Overall, he is dog friendly 🐕, especially with smaller dogs. He can be anxious with larger dogs at first, but generally warms up to them and has never been aggressive.
He is known at his local Petstock for being the best for new puppy introductions, as he is always very gentle with them.
He has lived with a cat 🐈 for most of his life, and he loves her (even when the feeling isn't always mutual). While he can be a bit excited with her, he calms down and gives her space when told off (either by humans or the cat).
Nugget does not dig or try to escape the yard. However, he will chew items left in his reach in the yard if he does not have other mental stimulation.
He does not stress or worry if he is left. He does not bark excessively, and will not bark at nothing (ie being left alone).
Nugget has noticeably worn down his teeth from chewing things he shouldn't when he was a puppy.
Nugget weighs 42kg (he could lose a little weight).

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
