About Lucy
Meet Lucy, our little star at SMART HQ! Despite a challenging start, Lucy has blossomed into a sweet and affectionate companion. This lovely Silky Terrier mix weighs in at a petite 4.2kg and has a winning personality to match her dainty size.
Born around April 2025, Lucy is a female dog who has made incredible progress at the shelter. Initially timid, Lucy has warmed up beautifully to her caregivers and companions, revealing her loving nature. With the right family, her confidence is sure to shine even brighter. She enjoys the company of other small dogs and has even made friends with our resident cat, showcasing her adaptable and gentle demeanor.
Lucy is enthusiastic about her walks on the lead, but just like any young pup, she could benefit from a bit of training to perfect her skills. Her recall is quite good, and she'll often come trotting back when called. Her heart truly belongs to the people around her, and once she's out of her shell, she thrives on pats and treats. Her new family will need to be patient and understanding, as she continues to build trust and confidence in her forever environment. We do not know if Lucy is toilet trained so this would need to be worked on.
Lucy would be the perfect addition to a home with a tranquil and nurturing atmosphere, where she can continue to grow and receive the love and care she deserves. She's excited to meet her new family and embark on a joyful journey together.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
The rescue group is no longer taking adoption applications for this pet.
