About Chief & Patch
Introducing Chief & Patch!
These gorgeous brothers are Staffy x's born 26th October 2024.
These boys were brought in as unmicrochipped strays after being found roaming the streets together. It took over a week for their owner to call us looking for them, but they never came to collect.
Chief (tan & white) & Patch (black & white) have been inseparable since being at the facility, to the point where they can't even be weighed by themselves without the other completely fretting without them. Due to this reaction and the fact they have been by each others side their entire lives, these boys will be rehomed as a bonded pair.
Since being at the facility these boys have quickly won the hearts of all staff & volunteers. They're incredibly affectionate, playful and just all-round sweet kids. They are quite food motivated & will sit on command.. we've even seen an excited paw raise like they're wanting to "shake". As they are still young & excitable, occasonally they do stand on their hind legs and reach up to get closer for kisses & cuddles.
We've found that Chief really enjoys chasing tennis balls, while Patch is more interested in chasing Chief when he's chasing tennis balls. Like most Staffies, they do enjoy a good wrestle with each other, which can look aggressive to the untrained eye. Don't be alarmed though, they are always quite gentle when nibbling on each other and they're always incredibly comfortable & happy during these interactions.. even if they're the ones being munched on.
Both boys tested fairly well with other dogs, although they were very much not interested in socialising with them. With encouragement from staff they happily had a quick sniff of the other dogs, but that was the extent of their interactions. While we believe Patch & Chief could be suitable to live with another dog, we believe they would be more comfortable at being the only spoilt "children" at home. In saying that, if you have a calm, friendly dog we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
While both boys initially tested well with cats, our feisty feline took a big swipe at Chief who then responded with lots of barking and full hackles. For this reason we are recommending a home with no cats.
Both Chief & Patch appeared to be unfazed by our resident rooster, when meeting him through a fence. We believe they could be suitable to live with small animals if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
These boys have shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety (as long as they're kept together) since being with us.
Patch & Chief still have so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where they are included as members of the family. They will thrive in an environment that guides them with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
If you think you could be that furever family for this gorgeous duo, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Their adoption fee is $750 for the pair & includes their desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. They have also been regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Patch & Chief are currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
