Hello there! I’m Terra, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.

Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Terra if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet.

General:
• Previous experience with my breed is essential.
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people will help me become a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion.
• I can’t go to a home with children under 12 yrs as I am quiet a strong and have a big love of food.



Dog Compatibility:
• I need to be the only dog in the home.
• I would benefit from impulse control classes to help me approach dogs in a non threatening/Friendly manner as I will currently approach dogs in a way that makes most dogs reactive to me to which I will react back.
• If meeting other dogs it needs to be done so in a controlled environment with a confident/ experienced handler and with a social non reactive dog because my approach to other dogs can be off-putting for the other dog BUT once I get to say hello my behaviour changes completely and I am able to relax and enjoy their company.
• I prefer dogs around my own size that are submissive, I am not good with smaller dogs.

Cat / small animal:
• I have a high prey drive, so I’m not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.

Perks:
• I’m a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I’m excited.
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys and will happily play with you or on my own.

Training:
• I haven’t had any formal training yet, so I’ll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• I know how to sit on command
• I am a strong girl and do pull on lead so I will need to learn lead manners with a strong capable owner who will walk me in a halti/harness.
