Echo is looking for a very understanding, cat-savvy home that can help her feel safe and supported while she settles in.
Echo came to us showing clear signs of anxiety, particularly around being left alone. During her stay, she spent around six weeks living in an office environment where she thrived being part of the daily routine — supervising work, following her people around, and always wanting to be involved in whatever was happening nearby.
Because of her attachment to people, Echo can become quite distressed when left on her own. This anxiety may show as agitation or behaviours such as chewing cords, so her future home will need to be mindful of providing enrichment, routine, and careful environmental management while she adjusts.
Echo also becomes overstimulated easily and can respond by nipping when she feels overwhelmed. For this reason, she is best suited to an experienced, adult-only home with people who are confident reading feline body language and understand the importance of recognising stress signals early and giving her space before she reaches that point.
Underneath her worries, Echo is an affectionate and engaging young cat who genuinely enjoys companionship and being included in day-to-day life. With patient, experienced guardians who understand anxious cats and are willing to work with her at her pace, Echo has every chance to blossom into a devoted and rewarding companion.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
