Adoption details
The adoption process at the Goulburn Mulwaree Animal Shelter is relatively easy. We ask that if you are interested in an animal, please apply via pet rescue. Once our Shelter staff have reviewed applications, we will and phone selected applicants for a meet and greet. We do not take expressions of interest over the phone.
Once you have been selected as the preferred applicant for the animal, all that is required by you is;
- make full payment for the animal at the Animal Shelter by EFTPOS ONLY (Payment via phone can be arranged after a meet and greet with the animal)
- provide details for the microchip and registration paperwork
- pick up your future pet from the Council veterinary service provider once they have been de-sexed and vaccinated (if not already desexed and vaccinated -Council staff will advise you when the animal is booked in at the veterinary clinic).
The following are the re-homing fees for dogs and cats,
Entire Dog (to be desexed after adoption) - $400.00
De-sexed Dog (de-sexed by previous owner) - $275.00
Entire Cat (to be desexed after adoption) - $300.00
De-sexed Cat (de-sexed by previous owner) - $175.00
Entire Dog( to be desexed after adoption) 8years or older - $250.00
De-sexed Dog (de-sexed by previous owner) 8 years or older - $150.00
Entire Cat (to be desexed after adoption) 8 years or older - $150.00
De-sexed Cat (de-sexed by previous owner) 8 years or older $100.00
The following is included with all sales,
Microchipping (identification details will be placed on the NSW Companion Animal Register)
Lifetime Registration (within NSW)
Vaccination
Worm, flea & tick treatment
Vet Check
De-sexing (if required)
Adoption pack
Please Note: All dogs and cats rescued from the Goulburn Mulwaree Animal Shelter are required to be de-sexed. Dogs and cats will not be sold as entire under any circumstances.
If you are enquiring for a dog and your household has children, dogs or cats please notify the animal shelter.
We are unable to test our dogs with children, but we can do limited testing around cats and other dogs.
The Goulburn Mulwaree Animal Shelter is open Monday to Friday 10.00am till 2.00pm or via appointment.
