About Gatal
Gatal is a calm, independent cat who has a quiet way of making himself part of your day. He won't demand your attention — he'll simply appear beside you, settle in, and make it clear he'd like a pat on the head when you're ready.
He is loyal, low-maintenance and genuinely content. When his needs are met, Gatal is one of the most relaxed cats you'll find.
Gatal shows his affection through presence and proximity — he'll find his way to wherever you are and settle in close. It's a quiet kind of devotion that feels genuine.
A little about Gatal:
🐾 Calm, independent and quietly loyal
🐾 Loves head pats and soft surfaces
🐾 Playful and cheeky when the mood strikes
🐾 Takes a little time with new people — then comes around
🐾 Best suited to a calm indoor home, including apartment living
Gatal's days follow a wonderfully easy rhythm. He eats well, finds the softest spot in the house to settle into, and keeps an eye out for an opportunity to play. He is not a cat who creates chaos — he is a cat who creates calm.
One of his most endearing qualities is his quiet companionship. When life gets busy, Gatal has a way of simply showing up beside you — not underfoot, not demanding, just present. It is a small thing that turns out to mean quite a lot.
With people he knows well, Gatal seeks out head pats and stays close. He is most comfortable with adults but can settle well in a home with older children who understand his gentle nature.
With unfamiliar people, Gatal takes a measured approach — he'll find a quiet spot to observe from until he feels comfortable. A little patience and calm goes a long way, and he tends to come around when he feels at ease.
Gatal hasn't lived with other animals previously, and his easy-going nature suggests he would adapt well to calm feline company with a considered introduction.
He would thrive in a calm indoor home — including apartment living — with people who appreciate a cat that is present without being demanding. Gatal has a generous coat that benefits from regular grooming — a simple routine that most guardians find becomes a lovely bonding moment. He also has a low-grade heart murmur that is fully asymptomatic — more detail on this is included below.
Picture a quiet evening at home, Gatal settled on something soft nearby, occasionally glancing over to remind you that a head pat would be appreciated. That is his idea of a great day — and it is very easy to love.
Gatal has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow.
If you're looking for a calm, loyal companion who asks for little and gives back quietly and consistently, Gatal is ready.
Located in Ringwood with his amazing foster family.

About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.

Medical notes
Medical notes:
Gatal has a grade 2/6 heart murmur. The good news is that he is completely asymptomatic, meaning it has no impact on how he feels or how he lives his life right now. Many cats with low-grade murmurs go on to live full and happy lives. We encourage any potential guardian to have a conversation with their vet so they feel fully informed and confident.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
