Meet Merino - a gentle soul looking for a quiet place to feel safe.

Merino is a beautiful Maremma Sheepdog with a very soft and sensitive nature. She finds the shelter environment overwhelming and isn't coping well with all the noise and activity, so we're hoping to find her a calm, understanding home where she can truly relax and start to feel secure.

With new people, Merino is very nervous and timid. She needs someone patient and kind who is happy to give her the time, space, and gentle encouragement she needs to build her confidence at her own pace. She isn't a dog who will thrive with pressure-she'll do best with a slow, quiet approach and a predictable routine.

Merino would be best suited to an adults-only home, ideally with a large yard or rural/farm-style environment, where she can feel more at home and have space to decompress.

She may take time to come out of her shell, but for the right person, helping Merino feel safe and watching her confidence grow will be incredibly rewarding.
