Meet our Beautiful Kelpie Girl Isla Rose with the most stunning eyes and the biggest smile.
Isla is an incredibly loyal dog and forms a close bond with everyone inside the home, including resident dog Theo.
She is sweet, loving, and very alert. She loves spending time with her humans, whether that be going on long walks or cuddling up on the couch.
Isla’s favorite things include going on long walks and hikes through bushy areas, cuddling up with her humans. Being brushed for hours lol and playing with her foster brother doggo friend.
Isla LOVES people. She loves people so much that she can be a little excited and jumpy when meeting them for the first time but she does settle down
Being a young Kelpie Isla is of course not only super intelligent but also thrives on metal and physical stimulation. She is very food motivated so training is a breeze for her and she has already learnt to go inside or outside the house when asked. Isla is also crate trained for a good night's sleep so night time is a breeze for her.
When out of the house, Isla can be a little bit cautious of other people in the street, but once she meets them, she loves them instantly. It just takes him a while to warm up for a stranger to pet.
Isla’s leash walking is improving; however, when walked in very busy places she can sometimes get overly stimulated, and her ears seem to stop working lol
Coming from the country the big city presents many new things she has had to navigate. Consequently, she can find new environments intimidating, so she isn't suited to super busy, bustling settings. Outer suburbs or a country life would be perfect
Outside the house, Isla is excited to meet other dogs and is still learning how to approach them calmly. She currently lives with a very happy lab boy who she loves to wrestle and play with.
In play Isla likes to be vocal, she enjoys engaging with dogs and lived with multiple dogs prior to coming into care. She has been tested with a number of dogs and is willing to engage but her exuberance needs to be monitored at times. She would love a male playmate who has similar energy to her
Isla can be very independent and left outside, She is fine as long as her exercise needs are met. If not she can get up to mischief, chewing her dog bed, etc. A friend would definitely help burn up some of her energy
Inside the home, Isla has great manners and just wants to follow you around all day. She will often sit herself in a street-facing window just to watch what is happening in the world around her. She loves being able to cuddle up on the couch or lay on your feet if you are sitting down. Isla is not left inside unsupervised while her family are out
.She is mildly picky when it comes to her food, so her foster family finds themselves having to mix in things such as bone broth, Greek yogurt, or prime dog roll to ensure that she eats all of her food.
Isla has come a long way with her car travel. She now happily hops in the car and lies down to relax. She will often rest her head on the center console of the car and fall asleep.

Isla is looking for an active home with working breed experience that can fulfill her exercise needs, as well as give her lots of cuddles and brushes
A calm, tolerant, playful resident male dog of similar age and size would be perfect for her
A family who are keen to continue training and bringing out the best in this girl, if you like hiking or running she's your gal !!!
A home with older kids/ teens or dog-savvy kids experienced with working breeds
A home with a decent backyard with secure fencing .shade and shelter
A home without cats or birds, or other pocket pets as she does tend to try and chase the occasional possum
