About Shelly
đŸ Shelly's Personality:
Shelly is a truly special little lady with a heart as big as her smile. At around 10 years young, this English Staffordshire Terrier may be a âlady of a certain age,â but she still has plenty of pep in her step! Sheâs full of joy and enthusiasm, always keen for a game of ball or a playful chase of the hose.
She loves her walks and is an absolute dream on the leadâsomething that will come in handy as she continues working towards a healthier weight (she does enjoy her food a little too much!).
Confident, friendly, and full of affection, Shelly adores people and will happily soak up all the love you can giveâespecially tummy rubs. She walks nicely alongside other dogs, but isn't really interested in play.
đĄ Shelly's Ideal Forever Home:
Shellyâs easy-going and affectionate nature gives her a wonderful âall-rounderâ appeal. She would thrive as a loyal companion for someone living alone or as a loving addition to a familyâshe truly has multigenerational charm.
Her ideal home will be one where she can enjoy regular walks, playtime, and plenty of companionship. A committed owner who can help her stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle will be keyâespecially as sheâs quite fond of her tucker!
đ Shelly's Rescue Story:
Shelly came into our care after the team at Port Macquarie Pound reached out, hoping we could help this beautiful girl with her medical needs. Her owner became homeless, and she was left with a friend indefinitely before being surrendered - during that time, her health needs had gone untreated.
When she arrived, her paw pads were painfully raw & sore, making it difficult for her to walk, and she was also dealing with ongoing skin conditions.
We knew we had to helpâbut also knew her care would come at a significant cost. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, who rallied behind our Facebook appeal, we were able to raise the funds needed to bring Shelly into our care and give her the treatment she deserved.
Now, after everything sheâs been through, Shelly is ready to find her forever homeâa place where she can enjoy comfort, love, and the happy retirement she has so truly earned.
đ©ș Shelly's Medical Information:
Shelly is desexed, vaccinated, and treated for fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal worms. She has undergone surgery to remove some skin cancers from her abdomen and will require sunblock to be applied to the area moving forward, as well as close monitoring of her skin. She has overcome the issues with her paws and is losing weight, which is essential to her living a long and healthy life!
đ More on Shelly:
Shelly is a smiling and happy girl, whose energy and spirit defy her age. She is sweet and affectionate, and oh so deserving of happily ever after. Could you be the one to give her the wonderful twilight years she's waiting for?
Medical notes
Shelly has previously had skin cancers removed from her abdomen and should have sunblock applied to the area moving forward.
