About Sumo, the greyhound
If you are interested in Sumo, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/4YdfUixpmWdJ4StT9
Sumo is a beautiful, affectionate boy who has settled into foster care with ease and is already showing what a wonderful companion he will be.
He’s a people-focused dog who simply loves being around his humans. Whether you’re moving around the house or relaxing on the couch, Sumo will happily be nearby, soaking up the company. He’s incredibly affectionate, curious about the world, and forms connections quickly.
Sumo would suit both apartment and house living. He has shown he can settle well when left alone, spending his time sleeping or quietly entertaining himself with toys. He has comfortably held overnight and has been tested for up to 6 hours during the day without issues.
On walks, Sumo is generally good on lead. He can be a little excited when first heading out, but with gentle guidance he settles nicely and enjoys exploring his surroundings. He has handled a busier environment well, showing no fear of traffic and only mild curiosity in new situations.
Sumo has been friendly and curious around other dogs and would be suitable to live with another dog pending a meet and greet.
He is very food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for ongoing training. With the right guidance, this will help him continue to learn quickly and build good habits.
Sumo is a loving, clever and inquisitive boy who will thrive in a home where he can be included in daily life and continue to grow in confidence. He truly is a special companion and will make a very loyal best friend.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
