Meet Ari, a handsome young stumpy-tailed Cattle Dog mix with a sweet nature, clever mind and lovely, chilled temperament.
(Important Note: One of the best things about a stumpy-tailed dog is that the wag doesn't stop at the tail — the whole dog wiggles with excitement, while remaining wonderfully coffee-table-safe. 🐾)
Ari is affectionate, people-focused and very happy to welcome his foster family home at the end of the day. He thinks he is a lap dog, loves cuddles and belly rubs, and enjoys being close to his people.
He already has some excellent foundations in place. Ari can sit on command, wait for his food and shake hands. He loves his tucker and treats, which makes him very trainable. He is clever, responsive and keen to please.
Ari is playful with other dogs and enjoys the company of his younger puppy mate. He is also happy to be the gentleman with a smaller pup and does not need to be the dominant one.
Ari is cat tolerant. If a cat hisses, he sensibly withdraws, although if a kitten runs he may give playful chase. Sensible supervision will be important.
He is used to primary school-aged children and is a beautiful, well-mannered young dog. He occasionally jumps up when very excited, but responds very quickly to correction. Continued guidance will help him polish his manners as he grows.
With his cute floppy ears, affectionate nature and easygoing outlook, Ari is a very appealing young boy.

Ari is offered for adoption under Southern Downs ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program. His adoption fee includes the cost of desexing when age appropriate, subject to the terms and conditions of the program.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
