About Brick
š¶ Meet Brick
If life had a fast-forward button, Brick would already have pressed it.
Brick is happy, bouncy, and absolutely full throttleāa dog who lives every second to the fullest. Heās a big personality in motion: always doing, always thinking, always ready for the next thing. And underneath all that energy? An absolute sweetheart.
He loves his toys and will happily entertain himself for hours, tossing them around and creating his own fun. But what he really wants is to be where you are, doing what youāre doing. Heās not a background dogāBrick is all about being part of the action.
He is affectionate and cuddly too, but switching āoffā doesnāt always come naturallyāespecially if thereās excitement in the air. Relaxation is something heās learning, not something heās mastered (yet).
š” Ideal Home
Brick needs a home that truly gets dogsāespecially high-energy, strong-willed ones.
His ideal home will have:
- Experienced owners (large breed or working breed experience preferred)
- A structured environment with consistent rules and boundaries
- Plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation
- Air conditioning (this busy boy runs hot!)
Brick is not a dog park dog or a cafĆ© companion. Heās better suited to a lifestyle where his needs are understood and managed, rather than one where heās expected to ājust go with the flow.ā
He can be wary of new peopleāparticularly menāand has shown he may react defensively if uncomfortable. Slow introductions and ongoing training will be essential.
ā” Energy Level
Very high.
Brick is always on the go and needs an outlet for both his body and his brain. Without it, heāll make his own fun and you might not love his ideas.
He thrives with:
- Structured exercise
- Enrichment activities
- Training sessions
- Clear routines
The good news? Heās learning to relax:
- Settling nicely in his crate
- Beginning to switch off on his bed in the evenings
- Consistency is key to helping him develop this skill.
š¶ Suitability for Children
Brick has lived with children before, but he is boisterous and intense. He would be best suited to a home with very dog-savvy kids aged 13+ who understand boundaries.
When excited, he may jump, bounce, or use people as a launching pad so supervision and structure are essential.
šš Other Pets
Dogs: Brick has been good with other dogs in foster care, but his greeting style is very intense. He may stand over other dogs initially and can react if challenged.
With proper management and introductions, he can coexist well
Responds to correction from dogs he knows
Cats: Not suitable
Heās not a āthrow him into any situationā kind of dog, he needs thoughtful handling and guidance.
š§ Personality & Training Notes
Brick is:
- Food motivated (great for training!)
- Stubborn at times
- Prone to throwing dramatic ātantrumsā (including the occasional crocodile roll) when he doesnāt want to do something
Heās improving with consistency but without it, heāll absolutely take the lead (and not in a good way).
Brick isnāt for everyone and thatās okay.
Heās for someone who wants a project, a companion, and a dog that will keep them engaged every single day. Heās fun, loving, challenging, and incredibly rewarding in the right hands.
Put in the work, and youāll get a loyal, entertaining, big-hearted dog who gives life everything heās got.
And honestly? He wouldnāt have it any other way.
Medical notes
Brick has had Entropion surgery to help correct his eyelid placements, so they're no longer rolling in.
He is fully recovered and feeling grand. There should be no further complications from this surgery.
