About Betty! 💮
Meet Betty 💛
Betty is a gorgeous girl with a heart full of love, just waiting for someone to give her the second chance she truly deserves. Estimated to be around 2–4 years old, Betty’s past is sadly unknown. She was found dumped at the front of the pound on April 11th, and despite being advertised throughout her impound period, no one came forward to claim her. It’s something we can’t quite understand—because Betty has shown nothing but beautiful manners and a gentle, sweet nature during her time with us.
This lovely Kelpie x Heeler girl has impressed everyone she’s met. She socialises well with other dogs at the pound and would be perfectly happy either as an only dog soaking up all your attention, or living with a desexed, friendly male dog of a similar size and energy level. While she’s not overly high-energy, she does have her adorable bursts of joy—her “happy zoomies” are guaranteed to make you smile! Her little half-nub tail (which hints she may have some Stumpy Cattle Dog in her) wiggles with excitement when she’s feeling happy and safe.
Betty has shown that she is afraid of cats, and given her working breed mix, she may be inclined to chase them—so a cat-free home would be best for now.
Weighing around 19.5kg, Betty is fully grown and won’t get any bigger. She has a calm, almost “old soul” presence about her—like a wise wolfhound in a Kelpie body. Despite whatever she’s been through, she remains incredibly affectionate, gentle, and trusting.
She’s also:
Not a fence jumper
Not destructive
A total foodie (she’ll need a slow feeder to help her pace herself!)
Betty is the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart. Once you meet her, you’ll understand just how special she is.
If you’re ready to give a loyal, loving dog a forever home, please get in touch today to book a meet-and-greet with Betty. She’s more than ready to start her new life—with you. 🐾
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
