About George
🐹 Meet George! 🐹
George is a sweet young male guinea pig with a gentle nature and curious personality.
He enjoys munching on fresh veggies, and chatting away with his adorable guinea pig squeaks.
George is still young and has lots of love to share with the right family.
Because guinea pigs are highly social animals, George will need a home with other guinea pigs. Living with other guinea pigs helps him feel safe, happy, and emotionally fulfilled.
🏡 Guinea Pig Care Basics
Guinea pigs need daily fresh hay. Fresh vegetables should be offered every day, along with a vitamin C source, as guinea pigs cannot make their own.
They require a spacious enclosure, clean bedding, and regular cleaning.
Gentle handling and daily interaction help build trust and keep them confident.
George would thrive in a caring home that understands guinea pig needs and is ready to welcome him into a social herd.
If you're looking for a charming little companion (or to add to your guinea pig family), George could be the perfect match! 💚
To book a meet and greet with George please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au .

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
