About Porter
Introducing Porter!
Porter is a Domestic Short Hair born 9th February 2026.
Porter, his siblings & his mum were taken into another council facility, where (due to lack of space) their time was limited. We couldn't bear to see anything happen to a young mum and her very tiny babies, so we had them sent over to our facility. Parker & his siblings were barely old enough to walk when they were brought into us and the whole family are absolutely beautiful cats. We're happy to say that his mum Pebbles & sister Pickles have all been adopted before even being advertised, so sweet little Parker is the last of his family waiting for his forever home.
Porter is an incredibly cute boy (his photos don't do him justice) who absolutely LOVES to play and get into all kinds of cheeky kitten mischief! He loves wrestling with/chasing other kittens, playing with every toy he finds and climbing on things he probably shouldn't.. including but not limited to enclosures, furniture and the legs of staff & volunteers.
While Porter doesn't mind being picked up in short increments, he's not overly fond of being carried around for extended periods of time. He (and his siblings) turn into little wiggle worms & it's almost like trying to hold onto a live, slippery fish. While this may change over time, his new family will need to keep in mind that he may not be the type of cat who enjoys having a human chariot to carry him from room to room.
Porter has been socialised with multiple cats & kittens and he has gotten on very well with all of them. We believe Parker could be suitable to live with other feline friends, or be the spoilt only "child" at home.
Porter will be rehomed to a family who will keep him as an inside cat only.
Porter is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.

His adoption fee is $325 & this includes his desexing, first vaccination and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Porter is currently located in East Maitland.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
