Stitch

Stitch is a very affectionate, snuggly boy who will happily curl up on your lap any chance he gets. While he enjoys exploring outside on his own, he truly adores his humans and will quickly become your loyal shadow. He loves his toys, especially anything he can chew, toss or carry around, and is always up for a play.

He is a smart and eager learner who already knows sit, shake and stay, and is currently learning his release cues. He’s improving on the leash and settles beautifully in his crate at night, which he genuinely enjoys. His recall is coming along well with consistent practice. Stitch is a very social boy who loves other dogs, however he has had some negative handling experiences which have impacted his confidence on lead. He will need a confident handler to help guide him when meeting new dogs and continue building his confidence in this area. Stitch is a friendly, happy boy who loves people and thrives on attention. He is good with kids, although he can get a little excited and may jump up, but he responds well when corrected and settles quickly. He currently lives with three cats and may chase them if they run as he wants to play, not harm, so a dog-savvy cat or a slow introduction would be best.

He travels well and settles quickly in the car, usually falling asleep in the back seat. At home, Stitch would love an active environment where he can play, explore and be part of daily life. He enjoys being outside, playing with the hose or a paddle pool, and has loved visits to the beach. In one of his funnier quirks, he absolutely loves playing with the water hose and doesn’t mind whether it’s his humans—or even the horse—holding it!

He would benefit from another playful, tolerant dog to help guide him and match his energy, although he could also do well as the only dog if someone is home most of the time. He is currently learning independence and building confidence being left home alone, as he has always been surrounded by his humans or doggy friends. Stitch sleeps happily in his crate in the bedroom and prefers being close to his people, so he wouldn’t suit being left outside alone.

Like any puppy, he enjoys chewing (including the occasional shoe), but he is very responsive, redirects well and is eager to learn. Stitch is a sweet, loving and loyal companion who will quickly become part of the family—once you meet him, it’s hard not to fall in love.
