About Felix
Ross is a 2-year-old cat who arrived at the shelter feeling very overwhelmed, and it has been clear from the start that this environment is not where he feels comfortable or confident.
Ross is a gentle, quiet soul who is naturally curious, but his shy nature means he does not always present himself well in a busy shelter setting. He is the kind of cat who is likely to stay tucked away or watch from a distance rather than seek attention, especially when things feel unfamiliar or loud. Because of this, it can be easy to overlook just how soft and thoughtful his personality really is.
In a calmer environment, Ross shows glimpses of his true nature, careful curiosity, soft movements, and a quiet awareness of the people around him. He is not pushy or demanding, but there is a gentle cat underneath the fear who simply needs time, patience, and space to feel safe enough to come forward.
Ross needs someone who understands that shy cats often do not shine in a shelter, and who is willing to take a chance on what he could become in the right home. He will not be the cat who immediately runs up for attention, but he is exactly the kind of cat who can slowly build a deep and meaningful bond once he trusts his environment and his person.
Taking a chance on Ross is not about adopting a "perfectly polished" cat .. it's about seeing potential where it is not immediately obvious. Cats like Ross often wait the longest, not because they have nothing to offer, but because their best qualities are hidden behind fear.
With patience and kindness, Ross has every chance of becoming a gentle, loyal companion. Giving him that opportunity doesn't just change his life-it quite literally saves it.
Ross is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Ross - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
