About Maya
🐾 MAYA AT A GLANCE ❤️
Maya was born in rescue *not ours* , she was then adopted at a very young age , until she turned 12mths and the family didnt want her anymore. They tried to return Maya to the rescue group they got her from when she was a cute young pup, they said No they cannot take her back.
So , Maya then got dumped at a council pound in outer Melbourne, at the age of 12 months. There, she was so stressed out and anxious , they were worried about her welfare, so they made a call out to a group of rescues and when we saw the call out , we knew we had to help her.

❤️ WHAT MAKES MAYA SPECIAL?
Maya is a gorgeous Staffy girl who has overcome so much already.
She's not a high-energy dog who needs to run all day. She's actually quite easygoing — she'll enjoy some play, training or a trail walk, then happily curl up for one of her very important naps. 😂
She's affectionate, loves being with her people and has that classic Staffy combination of cuddles, cheekiness and comedy.
She's also incredibly food motivated, which makes training with her so rewarding!
🌱 HER BIGGEST NEED
Maya's biggest need isn't more training alone — it's the right person.
She needs someone who understands that her reactivity isn't something to punish or "correct" out of her. She needs someone who can recognise when she's uncomfortable, create distance and advocate for her.
With the right handling, Maya continues to make beautiful progress.
She has already gone from being overwhelmed by the outside world to confidently walking past dogs across the street.
Imagine how much more she can achieve with someone who believes in her. ❤️
🏡 MAYA'S DREAM HOME
We're looking for a family who will:
🐾 Continue her positive training
🐾 Give her time to settle and build trust
🐾 Keep her safe and advocate for her
🐾 Choose quieter walking routes and times
🐾 Understand responsible dog-reactivity management
🐾 Respect her boundaries
🐾 Give her plenty of affection, structure, enrichment and — importantly — naps! 😴
🐾 Make her a permanent member of the family
Maya isn't looking for a perfect family.
She's looking for a family who understands that every dog has their own story, their own quirks and their own pace.
She has already worked so hard to become the confident girl she is today.
She never asked to be homeless she just wants to belong with a family that will see her true potential and love her unconditionally.
Now it's time for someone to show her that home really can mean forever. ❤️🐾
