About Maya
Hi Staffy Lovers ❤️🙏
Right now, there are so many beautiful Staffy crosses waiting for a second chance… through absolutely no fault of their own 💔And today, we’re asking you to stop for just a moment… and see her.
Maia — 2 years old, Staffy cross, desexed.A young girl who has already been let down more times than she ever deserved.
She is still searching for her human soulmate, one that can truly commit to her and prioritise her needs .
‼️that's not her fault ! That's human fault.
This girl is a very sweet loving young lady
She would give her life to protect her humans. ❤️ She has a Big Heart
She may not be for everyone — but she is everything to the right person 💛
a loyal heart, and a deeply affectionate nature, funny, inquisitive mind, intelligent & loves structure but also very easy going; Maia thrives on companionship and simply being near her humans.
🏃🏻♀️ Energy level: Low - Medium
🕐 Her little routine?
Morning energy (8am–midday) ☀️Mandatory nap time (midday–2pm 😴)Afternoon fun (2pm–5pm)Then full hibernation mode for the night 💤
Because of her past, the world can feel big and overwhelming. She needs a calm, patient, consistent human who will guide her gently and let her grow at her own pace.
And honestly… can you blame her?Humans have been the ones to fail her 💔
She was isolated from the world, locked in the backyard.
So she Fears the unknown , & she can feel overwhelmed/overstimulated if you expect too much too soon and so it is up to her human/ handler (with our help/support) to understand her needs , work at her pace and know when to help her anxious mind.
For this reason, she can have reactivity when walking too close to other unknown/random dogs.
She is also not to be locked in the backyard alone when no one is home- this is a triggering situation for her due to her past.
Having said that this doesn't mean she hates other dogs or that she cannot be left alone.
She has shown she can form calm, respectful bonds with well-balanced dogs once she feels safe. She is currently being fostered with 3 other dogs , diff sizes and age.
And she has been left alone 4 to 6 hrs at a time inside.
✅️Walks well on leash, ✅️ Toilet trained ,✅️house trained, ✅️ good obedience skills and great companion in the car 🚗 She is not a noisy dog but she is still learning about impulse control.
The staffy breeds are known to mature around 4 years old.🙏 so Maya here is half way there 😌
Maya needs;
✔️ An indoor lifestyle as part of the family
She is not suited to backyard living — she is a companion dog who wants to be with her family where she feels safe the most.
She isn't comfortable with thunderstorm ⛈️ ( she is ok rain) needs her crate as her safe space (✔️she is crate trained)
You must have a secure fenced area min 180cm or more in height
This isn’t just opening your home…It’s giving a dog like Maya the chance to finally feel safe, understood, and loved 💖
In many cases, you are their last hope 💖
