FOR FOSTER AND/OR ADOPTION
Meet Shadow – Energetic, Sweet, and Ready for the Right Home 🐾
Shadow is a loving, high-energy boy looking for a home that can match his enthusiasm for life. Due to an upcoming move into a CBD apartment, his family have made the difficult decision to rehome him, as he truly thrives in a space where he can run, explore, and stay mentally stimulated.
Shadow would do best with an active family who has a secure backyard and can commit to multiple walks, playtime, and ongoing training each day. He's incredibly affectionate with his family and loves attention—he may get a little jumpy when excited, but this is something he's already working on.
He's friendly with other dogs and currently lives with one, though he can be a bit overexcited when meeting new dogs and would benefit from continued guidance to improve his manners. Because of this, he may suit a home as a solo dog or with a calm, well-matched companion. He has not been tested with cats and, due to his toy drive, a home without small animals would be safest for now.
With strangers, Shadow may bark initially but warms up quickly and shows his friendly nature. He's a sensitive boy who can take a little time to recover from things he finds overwhelming, so he'll need a home that provides structure, patience, and consistency to help build his confidence.
He's a smart dog who responds well to training and food rewards, and with the right guidance, he has all the potential to become an exceptional companion. He'll thrive in a home that offers not just love, but clear boundaries, routine, and opportunities to learn.
If you're an active, dog-savvy household ready to invest time into a loyal and affectionate companion, Shadow could be the perfect addition to your life.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
