About Wait A Minette!
Although she is loving and affectionate in her own special way, Minette is also quite shy and timid, particularly when first in new environments and does not like to be touched or picked up.
YET!
She has improved in leaps and bounds since she arrived in our care and is getting more and more confident every day. So we're excited to see just how far she may progress while living life in a loving foster home.
Minette was originally adopted from a rescue and when she first arrived in her new home she was extremely frightened. But with patience and kindness Minette did eventually find her confidence and was confidently able to move around the home. But her previous owner did have another cat who sadly bullied her quite often, causing her to withdraw.
Sadly her previous owner decided to move overseas and needed to rehome her cats as a result. Amazingly, they did not think Minette could survive the move into a new household and wanted to have her put to sleep. But fortunately we were able to convince them to surrender her into our care and she's now living a great life in her foster home.
As expected, she was quite shy initially, spending most of her time hiding and only coming out at night, but with time and love she is finding her confidence and her beautiful personality is beginning to shine through. She is getting more and more comfortable being around her foster mum every day and we're very excited by the progress she's making.
Minette has decided that her foster mums bed is her favourite place to sleep but only when her foster mum isn't in it. Minette will patiently wait on a nearby chair until her foster mum gets up and makes her bed before she jumps up and makes herself comfortable.
Recently, she jumped up on the bed while her foster mum was still in it, freaked out and jumped off. But much to our excitement, she has since started jumping up on the bed, not freaking out, but eyeing her foster mum cautiously. So we're making progress.
Once she is settled Minette shows her love and trust by seeking out her person when she wants something, whether it’s her favourite treats, playtime, or to have a door opened. She gives the sweetest slow blinks when spoken to and purrs loudly while making “biscuits” on her favourite blanket when she’s content.
Minette is a quiet girl who has never been heard to meow, but she makes adorable little chuckling sounds when she’s excited during play. Her favourite toys are ping pong balls and small soft toys, and she loves having zoomies around the house. She is very clean, respectful of furniture, and easy to care for. She enjoys watching the world from her favourite spot by the window in her chosen room and prefers a calm, predictable environment.
She is used to being around other cats and does not have and mean bone in her little body, so she would not cause trouble in a multi-cat household. But as she is sweet, gentle and non-dominant, she would be easily bullied by another cat with a strong personality. Minette has really blossomed since arriving in a home of her own so she would probably do best as an only cat.
We would like to find Minette a quiet home with a loving and patient cat person who can provide her with calm and predictable environment, where she can adapt at her own pace and let her beautiful personality begin to shine through when she's ready.
A single or couple of professionals with no kids or a retiree in a retirement village would be perfect.
If you’re a calm, gentle person who can appreciate a reserved but adorable cat who shows her love quietly and on her own schedule, Minette could be the perfect match for you. She has so much sweetness to offer the right person who can understand and respect her gentle nature.
Minette is 6.5 years old and has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and is ready for adoption right meow.
If you think you have the room in your heart and your home to provide this gorgeous little soul with a great life please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to arrange a time for you to meet and fall in love with her.

About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
