Meet Minette – A Sweet, Gentle Tortoiseshell Girl Looking for a Quiet, Understanding Forever Home.

Minette is a beautiful 6½-year-old tortoiseshell girl with a very soft, sweet soul.

Although she is loving and affectionate in her own special way, she is also quite shy and timid due to what appears to be past trauma. She does not like to be touched or picked up, and she may never become a lap cat. However, for the right person, she can be a deeply rewarding and endearing companion.

When Minette first came from a rescue, she was extremely frightened. After years of patience and kindness from her current owner, she has made wonderful progress. She no longer hides all day, and she now confidently moves around her home. She shows her love and trust by seeking out her person when she wants something — whether it’s her favourite treats, playtime, or to have a door opened. She gives the sweetest slow blinks when spoken to and purrs loudly while making “biscuits” on her favourite blanket when she’s content.

Minette is a quiet girl who has never been heard to meow, but she makes adorable little chuckling sounds when she’s excited during play. Her favourite toys are ping pong balls and small soft toys, and she loves having zoomies around the house. She is very clean, respectful of furniture, and easy to care for. She enjoys watching the world from her favourite spot by the window in her chosen room and prefers a calm, predictable environment.

While she lives with another cat, she is not particularly social with other animals and generally prefers her own space. Because of her sensitivity, she would do best in a quiet home as the only cat, with a patient adult or couple who will respect her boundaries and allow her to approach on her own terms. She is not suited to homes with young children or high traffic.

Minette enjoys a mix of wet and dry food (especially tuna fillets and Temptations treats), and she is happy to spend most of her time indoors, though she enjoys brief garden access when the weather is nice. She is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and used to being cared for by a mobile vet.

If you’re a calm, gentle person who can appreciate a reserved but adorable cat who shows her love quietly and on her own schedule, Minette could be the perfect match for you. She has so much sweetness to offer the right adopter who understands and respects her gentle nature.

Minette is 6.5 years old and has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and is ready for adoption right meow.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
