About Lucy
Hello there! I’m Lucy, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR LUCY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• I’m used to a quiet, mature household and would love a similar environment.
• Because I can be shy in new situations, a home without little ones who may accidentally startle me would suit me best.
• Because I may have had a sheltered start and can be shy in new situations, continued socialisation will really help build my confidence. I’m already becoming braver at the shelter!
• I would be happy as the only dog in the home with lots of play dates, or a calm, gentle dog companion, as boisterous dogs can be overwhelming and i can be a bit reactive to them. I’ll benefit from gradual, positive socialisation if I'm going to be the only dog.
• A home without cats is best for me, as I’m a bit too keen to chase them.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I’m excited.
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit, shake and stay, and I’m always eager to learn more.
• I walk nicely on lead already, and with daily walks I’ll only keep improving.
• I appear housetrained and am used to being allowed indoors as part of the family.
• I absolutely LOVE attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I love toys — especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
Training & Support Needs:
• I can be nervous around other dogs and may react if they’re too full-on or reactive towards me. Controlled, positive socialisation experiences will help me build confidence and learn that other dogs aren’t so scary. But as stated above I'm happy to be around/live with gentle calmer dogs.
• I’m currently carrying a little extra weight and would benefit from a healthy diet and regular exercise to help me slim down.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Lucy if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
