Sweet Lulu is the most beautiful girl, inside and out. A true Velcro dog, Lulu’s ideal life is by the side of her person. Lulu would love to have someone who works from home or part time, or retired as she bonds very closely. She doesn’t have separation anxiety but truly loves to be with her people. Noisy, active children are not her cup of tea, so we are looking for a home without toddlers or younger children. Teenagers or quiet children maybe ok, as long as they’re not running or bouncing a basketball in her space as she can get nervous and bark to control the crowd. Lulu is good with other dogs once she meets them and is never nasty, but occasionally doesn’t want to be playmates with every dog she meets. Cats are ok. Lulu loves her food and is an easy dog to treat train. She is generally very obedient and generally well behaved. Lulu is crate trained and enjoys having her own quiet place. Unfortunately Lulu hasn’t had a lot of experience in the car and has been car sick while in foster care, which may resolve with training and exposure but may not. Lulu absolutely loves her daily walks and has an excellent recall.
BUT….. here’s the BIG thing to know about Lulu because without this she would be almost perfect - Lulu has a genetic condition causing cataracts. Unfortunately some Aussie Shepherd’s can have this condition and Lulu is one. It means that Lulu is slowly losing her sight. Eventually she will be blind and the progression of the condition is individual so we don’t know how quickly or slowly it will progress for her. If Lulu is settled into a new home as her eyesight deteriorates, then it is likely she can still have great quality of life adjusting to her loss of sight over time. We are looking for a very kind and gentle home for a near perfect dog.
The adoption fee of $600 assists to cover the costs of vet work such as sterilisation, microchip, microchip ownership transfer, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, vet check, blood tests and equipment.
