About Sammy
Sammy is a desexed male Domestic Shorthair cat available for adoption in Boolaroo (Lake Macquarie, NSW).
Sammy is the kind of cat who makes a house feel lively. This cheeky, affectionate cat has love to give in bucketloads — and a playful streak that'll have you grinning on even the most ordinary Tuesday.
He's equally happy entertaining himself during the day and then coming alive for an enthusiastic evening play session right on cue. Active, curious, and full of personality — Sammy brings genuine warmth to every room he's in.
With the people he knows, Sammy is all in. Playful, loving, and physically affectionate in the most endearing ways — he's the kind of cat who makes you feel genuinely adored.
A little about Sammy:
🐾 Catnip enthusiast and dedicated toy chaser
🐾 Affectionate, cheeky, and entertainingly playful
🐾 Indoor only — thrives with an active household
🐾 Has had calm, curious exposure to a dog in his current home
🐾 Would do best as the resident cat — no prior history with other cats
Sammy has a signature move that will absolutely melt you: he gives kisses by booping his little nose right to your lips. Every single time he strolls past, he'll brush against your leg — not because he needs something, just because you're his person and he wants you to know it.
Come evening, Sammy comes alive. He loves a good catnip session, a spirited toy chase, and any game that lets him show off his quick little paws. Even a few minutes with a wand toy is enough to make his day. Watch him near his water bowl too — he has a delightful habit of dipping a paw in before drinking. It never gets old.
When Sammy decides you're his person, you'll know it — he's consistent, warm, and genuinely affectionate once he's comfortable. With new faces, he likes to form his own first impression first: he'll observe quietly from a comfortable distance, then make his way over in his own time. No hiding, no drama — just Sammy, deciding you're alright.
Sammy would flourish in an indoor home with an active, engaged household — somewhere that appreciates a cat who gives affection freely and often. As Sammy hasn't lived with other cats, a home where he can settle in as the resident cat gives him the best start. A calm, cat-respectful dog in the home may suit him well.
His days have a lovely rhythm: a small breakfast, a relaxed morning doing his own thing, and then come evening — play, connection, and dinner. Simple, joyful, and entirely his own.
Imagine this: it's a quiet weeknight, you've just sat down, and Sammy materialises beside you — nose-boop to your cheek, a rumbling purr starting up, one paw briefly dipped in his water bowl on the way past. That's just a regular evening with Sammy.
The person who gets Sammy gets nose-boops, evening play sessions, and a cat who loves them with his whole chest. He's ready when you are.
FAQ
Is Sammy good with dogs?
Sammy has had calm, curious exposure to a dog through a screen door in his current home — he's interested rather than reactive. A settled, cat-respectful dog may be a good match, though a quieter home environment suits him best.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
