About Layla
Layla is available for fostering or foster to adopt home.
Layla requires the following in her new home:
- A confident playful desexed male dog living in the home.
- Daily exercise (not at dog parks).
- To have the option of being inside with her family when they are home and to sleep at night.
- Will need ongoing training with an experienced owner or an owner willing to have a trainer involved.
- A secure yard big enough to play in.
Layla is looking for her new home. To those she knows she is a fabulous friend and very affectionate and is great with kids. She will require daily exercise that is appropriate for a young dog (she is not suited to dog parks). She enjoys having the option of being inside when her people are home and loves to sleep inside at night.
Layla is a smart girl, she can sit for treats, to come inside, to put on her leash, and sit and wait for a command to eat her food. She will even come when called most of the time when not too distracted.
Layla is only young and is still developing. She has puppy energy to burn and puppy behaviours that need ongoing training, she will need someone that has experience in dog training or willing to engage with a trainer. She is playful with other dogs but can get rough (no aggression), she needs to be shown what play is inappropriate. She would be best with a very playful confident desexed male dog for company. When meeting new people she barks until she realises they will pat her and will be her friend. Layla is a power chewer, chewing things that she shouldn’t, she will need management around this. Crate training may be a great management tool for her, ensuring she is getting plenty of rest around getting her physical needs met and a safe place for her if she is playing too rough or chewing inappropriate objects.
Layla is used to being home without company a few days a week, but she would love her people home often while she learns the rules.
Layla is very affectionate and cute, and loves a snuggle on the couch. When you return home she is just so adorably happy to see you. She loves playing with other dogs (although rough) and has never been aggressive with them. Along with training and maturity she will grow into a great companion to those in her life.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
