My Ideal Home:
• I'll need regular exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an enthusiastic doggo joining the family.
• I absolutely LOVE water and would be thrilled to have my own clam pool to splash and relax in.
• I am looking for a family who will cherish and care for me throughout my golden years.
• I am happy to coexist with other friendly dogs however I am not overly interactive with them and just as happy on my own.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I may be able to live with a dog friendly/savvy cat.

My Paw-some Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited (warning though my waggy tail is a whip!).
• I know my basic commands like sit, shake hands and wait to eat until told so
• I do pull on the lead initially when excited but within minutes I am just strolling beside you
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• Even though I am a mature lady I am still full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I adore water and will happily splash in my bowl, chase the hose, or take a swim in a basin or river.
• I am very responsive to my name

Training & Support Needs:
• I am very scared of thunder and fireworks, and may attempt to escape if left out in the yard on my own during storms. I'll need a safe, secure space to retreat to, along with comfort and reassurance from my family. Crate training would be highly beneficial for me

Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Xena if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
