Meet Checkers: A gorgeous 11-year-old black & white gentleman 🖤🤍

Checkers has known love his entire life. His owners originally rescued his mum, not realising she was pregnant, and soon welcomed four beautiful kittens into their home. While his three brothers found families of their own, Checkers stayed right where he belonged, growing up alongside his mum, surrounded by love from day one.

After 11 years together, his family were absolutely heartbroken to have to make the difficult decision to surrender him when they couldn’t take him into a new rental. He has truly been their “baby” all this time and this was not a decision made lightly.

Checkers is everything you’d hope for in a companion. He’s affectionate, adores cuddles and is happy soaking up the sun, watching the world go by from a window or curling up for a cosy nap. He has a playful side too and enjoys a game of chase when the mood strikes. And if he has something to say, he won’t hesitate to let you know.

He would suit a calm home with older children and no dogs, as he hasn’t had positive experiences with dogs in the past. Checkers has been an only cat for some time but may be open to sharing his home again with another gentle cat, given a slow and thoughtful introduction.
