Hello there! I'm Koda, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.

My Ideal Home:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• As a young doggo, I'm ready to learn and adapt - how I grow and mature will reflect the love, structure, and guidance you provide
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• As a social and playful pup, I may really enjoy attending doggy daycare.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic young dog joining the family.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
• I need a doggy companion to keep me company when my family isn't home AND a family who will have me inside at all times possible, I can feel lonely and a little anxious when left alone, which will lead to barking and escaping behaviors!
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they'll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I'm very social and happy to hang out with other friendly dogs - total social butterfly!
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I'm clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who'll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training & Support Needs:
• I haven't had any formal training yet, so I'll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• My recall needs work, as I can sometimes ignore you if I'm distracted - this is something we'll need to practice together.
• I can be a little bouncy when excited, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
• I will feel anxious when left alone in the backyard and may become vocal, and plan an escape. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company, and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
• I'm not housetrained yet, as I haven't previously been allowed inside, so I'll need guidance and consistency to learn.
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Koda if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
